CityDrinks is a UAE-licensed online alcohol retailer that lets expats legally buy wine, spirits, and beer in Dubai and Abu Dhabi through age-verified delivery — fully compliant with emirates regulations and operational within the emirate’s licensed retail framework.
Buying alcohol online in the UAE as an expat is legal when you purchase from a licensed retailer like CityDrinks. The UAE permits alcohol sales through licensed channels, and CityDrinks holds the necessary retail license to operate in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. You must be 21 or older — the platform verifies your age at purchase and again at delivery, so you’ll need a valid ID when the order arrives.
The process is straightforward: browse CityDrinks’ curated selection of wines, spirits, and beers; add items to your cart; and enter your delivery address. The platform accepts expat residential addresses and some business locations across both emirates. Payment is processed securely, and your order is dispatched via licensed couriers who handle the delivery compliantly.
A common concern for expats is whether delivery is permitted to their specific building or compound — some residential communities have restrictions. CityDrinks handles this by confirming your address against emirate delivery zones during checkout. If your location is outside the service area, the platform will flag it. This transparency means you know before ordering whether delivery is possible to your address.
CityDrinks’ compliance approach includes regulatory adherence at every step: licensed stock, age-verified sales, compliant delivery, and proper handling of alcohol shipments. For expats unfamiliar with UAE alcohol regulations, this licensed-retailer structure removes the legal uncertainty — you’re buying through an authorized channel, not a grey-market workaround.
